But it was on a graduation trip with friend James Gurney that Kinkade began sketching out his career by sketching landscapes. The two ended up creating a book, "The Artist's Guide to Sketching." The artists are all professionals and will include such luminaries as landscape artist Keith Gunnarsen, James Gurney (who is responsible for the artwork in the Dinotopia series), James Ransom and Jane Bloodgood Abrams.
