    Dan Peknik's illuminating images in 'AStigma'  Sep 25, 2009
    So taking a cue from the thick light boxes used to examine X-rays in physicians' offices - and utilized by artists like Jeff Wall - Peknik, 40, decided to use the technology at his disposal at NASA Ames Research Center, where he works as an interaction designer studying how color is used in spacecraft control systems, and to apply an engineer's problem-solving approach to his visual art problem.
