Couse, Frederick Remington, Gustaf Baumann and Henry Sharp, were sold to a consortium of dealers in California and ended up in a California gallery, according to Ms Perin. The sale of all 21 objects yielded about $850,000 net for the museum, but the paintings alone should have generated more than $1 million, says Ms Perin (Art Newspaper, UK)
